Alejandra Costamagna

Santiago de Chile, 1970

Residencia escritores

In September 2024, Malba welcomed the Chilean writer Alejandra Costamagna (Santiago, Chile, 1970), with the support of the MATTA Cultural Center – Embassy of Chile in Argentina.

The residency was launched in Santiago, Chile, at the Centro Cultural La Moneda, during the first edition of the Fiesta de la Lectura (Reading Festival), a literary event organized by Malba and the CCLM. As part of the Writers' Residency, Costamagna held a conversation there with Magdalena Arrupe, coordinator of Malba Literatura, titled “¿Cómo escribo, cómo leo?” (How Do I Write, How Do I Read?).

Once in Buenos Aires, she took part in a public interview with Hernán Ronsino in the Malba library and gave a public reading at the publishing house Ampersand on her life as a reader.

Costamagna was one of the international guests at the 16th Buenos Aires International Literature Festival, where she took part in two events on the FILBA program. She joined the panel “Tres narrativas sobre el silencio” (Three Narratives on Silence) with Luis Sagasti and Laura Paredes, moderated by Sebastián Hacher.

She also led a “Cata de libros” (Book Tasting) at Taller Musgo, where she revisited stories, recommended books and shared a list of novels with the word “memory” in their titles, each approaching the idea from a different angle, register and perspective.
